There are many different models out there for determining the structure of a story and controlling the pacing, but they are all essentially the same. It’s time to take a step back from all the different books out there regarding story structure and break it down into the commonalities found in the various models. While every story is different, there are certain elements that drive a story at its core. In this session, we will:
discuss why story structure is important;
examine the core story beats that can be found in any story, regardless of genre;
and consider story structure impacts on the pacing of a story.
