Indie Authors and Small Publishers this course can save you thousands of dollars!

You can spend between $50 - $500 hiring someone to do what you can do for free in twenty minutes or less. And that's just e-book conversions. Print is even more expensive. At the very least, you will spend $100-150 to format a single manuscript for print and ebook upload to Kindle. If you publish just one book, you will have saved three times what you will pay for this course.

Not a bad return on a $35 ($25 if you are a premium member) investment. You can fire the person who formats your books and do the job yourself in a matter of minutes using free software.

Back in the day, if you wanted to publish an ebook on Kindle, you had to learn to code much of the manuscript by hand. It was a torturous chore. Today, you can upload a simple MS-Word file and Kindle will format the book for you. But you still have to create a table of contents in a certain format, and watch out for certain "hidden characters."

And if you wanted to create a paperback.... Well, don't get me started.

Today, we have a great tool out from Kindle that will build both an e-book and a print book at the same time. It's called Kindle Create. This course will show you how to use it.

You will learn the following:
  • Preparing the original document.
  • Downloading and Launching the Software
  • Creating the Front Material
  • Font selection and modification.
  • Using images
  • Adding page numbers and headers to print versions.
  • Previewing the results
  • Uploading to Kindle.

Savvy Authors' workshops are held on a forum: a bulletin board based system. You will receive a reminder notice one day prior to the start of the workshop that includes instructions on how to access the workshop forum. If you have not received instructions by the day the workshop begins, please check your spam filter.

The forum will be available the morning (EST) of the day the workshop starts and will remain accessible to all participants thereafter. You will also be given simple instructions on how to create a PDF of all your discussions along with our privacy and data retention policy.

Terri removed the mystery from self-publishing via Kindlebook. Before the class I felt I could never manage to use the kindlebook software myself. Now, I feel confident that i can. Knowing I can self publish via kindlebook spurs me on to finish my WIP.
