    Feature Request's

    Hiya

Not sure if this is the right place but i wanted to suggest something - a feature request.

When you join a workshop and hadn't paid for it it comes up on your 'my event' page. I'm suggesting a exit button or delete button. So that if something came up and you couldn't do the workshop you could remove it from your 'my event' page without having to email you to be asked to be taken out of the workshop.

    Hope that makes sense.

And another feature request. The option to subscribe to a forum by email but when it happens instead of daily. SO if someone post something right now, i'd get it right now or in a few minutes not at the end of the day.

Oh, good idea about the delete button, Raylene. I'll get right on that!

Regarding the subsriptions, it's actually a setting in your your account how you'd like the "Subscribe" button to work in the Forums. Go here: http://www.savvyauthors.com/vb/profi...do=editoptions and you'll see an option "Default Thread Subscription Mode". Set that to instantly, and every time you subsribe you'll instantly get notified. I did a quick poll of our user tables and noticed that only about 1% of our members knew about this feature and we're using it, so I turned everyone across the board on.

I really need someone to write a blog post about the features on this General Settings page as *most* members still haven't set their time zone either (which is also a setting on that page). Feel like getting your name on the home page and writing up a little discovery blog about these account options? Anyone?

    hiya

thanks - i actually had it turned on already just didn't know it. I must of done it earlier.

Um the blog post - well i don't blog.... I haven't really gotten my fingers wet in that direction yet. I did tried blogging over a year ago when i was pregnant with my twins and it didn't work out

And i've just been playing with the 'general settings' and i don't really know what they all mean. But i have done my time zone I'm sure there is someone out there who will do it

    Thanks Liz

suggestion one: a mark thread read, mark forum read, as well as the already in 'mark all forums read'

suggestion two: on a netbook the Home | Whats new | etc line gets smushed. with FAQ and Search being in the same spot. Thats in res 1024x764 or something close. In front of advanced search maybe?

Bug or feature? In Groups When you go into the group and view the threads, it shows the last person that posted but it shows the day that person first started their first thread in that group it looks like rather then the day they posted on the thread they are replying to.

    Hey Mer!
Suggestion One: Already exists, I believe. There is an option to Mark Forum read under Forum Tools when you're in the forum for that thread or you can mark them all by going Forums-> Forum Actions (secondary menu) -> Mark All Read.

Suggestion Two: Yeah, I just saw it on a netbook this weekand and I'm planning on moving some of the menu tabs so it all fits. I'm also loading up code so it looks better on an iPhone. Whee.

    Keep suggestions coming!

Ahh I missed that. I was poking around but didn't see it. Thanks

I added a bug, you didn't mention it so i'm guessing they might have crossed in view/editing.

Hi, Liz. I have a request for the AutoCritter. Is it possible to have a box (to check or uncheck) that would ignore dialogue within quotation marks. Sometimes, I use words like 'was, is, be, know, think', etc. in dialogue. However, that's a particular person's style', and I don't want AutoCritter to count it or pick up on it.. I'd like to be able to see the passive and no-no words in the narrative, not the dialogue. Did that make sense?

    Thanks.

How about adding a way where we workshop attendees can [easily] have the complete lectures & the complete replies emailed individually to us like a Yahoo Group. And then we can "post" by email. I love the simplicity of courses offered by YahooGroup.

I always have to debate if the workshop you are offering is worth the hassle of going online to read comments from others, to get the lectures, & the hassle of figuring out how to even get announcements about the lectures being posted. Often, the answer is No.

    Linda,
While I appreciate your candor, it isn't feasible for us to run this many courses using Yahoo loops. There are certainly many other sources for workshops using that medium, so at least you're able to find a workshop that does appeal to you outside of Savvy. We mourn the loss of your presence on those occasions, but we ultimately want people to learn in whatever format best suits them. You *can* receive all posts individually via email just like a yahoo loop if you subscribe which is only one click on our site, but you will still need to click the link in the email to reply. I'm sorry that you do not enjoy using a forum, but many people do prefer this method of course delivery because of it's organization and simplicity as well as the fact that they do not like receiving the posts via email. Hehe. It's hard to please everyone. I will say that we do have the feature to reply via email under development, but we are several months away from launching it. Let me know if perhaps you're not finding the subscribe feature easily enough and I'll provide more instructions. : )
    Good luck and happy writing!
    ~Liz

    1) I would love to receive emails like from a YahooGroup with the class name. I know you can't give content, that's ok. But even though I though I'm signed up in My Setting to receive instant emails, I don't receive them.
    2) I'd like names of courses on threads. When I look at the posts of my 2 current workshops, the only way I can tell there are 2 is one icon is gray & one red. I don't know which is which.
