| Showing vs. Telling - How to Use Both | |
Instructor: Misa Ramirez. The difference between a story that shows verses a story that tells is a book people love to read verses a story people put down. Is your story engaging? Does it grab people’s attention? Does is suck readers into the story, refusing to let them go?
If it does, you’ve created a visceral response in your reader. You’ve SHOWN your story.
If not, your story is likely relying on telling instead of showing, removing your character from the action, and your reader from the story.
Participants will analyze telling verses showing scenes, will rework them, and will identify telling scenes in their own WIP, reworking them into showing scenes. This is an interactive workshop and participation is key!
