| | INSTRUCTOR: | Alice Osborn, M.A. helps creative writers get published and helps small business owners improve their communication so they can build their brand and grow their business. Alice is the author of Right Lane Ends (Catawba, 2006); she is a manuscript editor, freelance writer and speaker who earned her M.A. in Rhetoric/Composition from NC State.
A former high school English teacher, Alice now works with the United Arts Council to bring writing to grades 4-12 in local schools. She also offers creative writing and business seminars throughout the Triangle and teaches at Meredith College, Duke Continuing Studies, Raleigh Parks and Recreation and other learning centers. She is one of the “Our Lives” guest columnists this year in the Raleigh News and Observer and also writes for The Pedestal Magazine and Wake Living. Her poetry has appeared in Main Street Rag, the 2008 and 2009 Kakalak Poetry Anthologies, the Raleigh Quarterly, Soundings Review, Gutter Eloquence Magazine and more.
Alice grew up in the Washington, D.C. area and in Charleston, SC, and now lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband, son and daughter. When she’s not working, she enjoys sampling a variety of white wines, researching notable people on Wikipedia and accomplishing difficult hikes with her husband, Keith.
