Overcoming Writer's Block

Do you suffer from writer’s block often? Are there times you can’t write at all? During this workshop, you will have the rare opportunity to overcome this dreaded problem and feel much more productive and confident.

No writer is completely immune from writer’s block. Even the best known novelists and writers experience brief moments or longer periods when the words simply won’t come. Writers can get stuck at all levels, from practical to reflective to emotional. We will be examining all of these levels in this four week workshop. This workshop will offer concrete ways for you to get writing again and to become more connected to your writing and to your writing projects.

Here is a week-by-week breakdown of the workshop!
 
Week 1 – What does it mean to experience writer’s block? 
 
In this lesson, you will learn about writer’s block and what causes it. In addition, you will learn how to take steps to become unstuck. The student will be given practical exercises on how to become unstuck. You will have to submit your exercises for assessment and evaluation. 
 
 
Week 2 – You’ll learn five practical tips to overcome writer’s block
 
In this lesson, you will learn the first five practical tips to avoid writer’s block. The assignment will include hand on exercises on how to avoid writer’s block. You will have to submit your exercises for assessment and evaluation. 
 
Week 3 – You’ll learn five reflective tips to overcome writer’s block
 
In this lesson, you will learn the second set of practical tips to avoid writer’s block. You will be given some written exercises to take steps to overcome writer’s block. You will have to submit your exercises for assessment and evaluation.
 
Week 4 –You’ll learn five structural tips to overcome writer’s block
 
In this lesson, you will learn the third set of practical tips to avoid writer’s block. You will be given some written exercises to take steps to overcome writer’s block. You will have to submit your exercises for assessment and evaluation.
 
In this workshop, you will learn how to take steps to avoid writer’s block forever. You can be writers who believe in yourselves and your own unique writing talents. 
 
As an extra bonus, you will receive a free e-book entitled The ABCs of Overcoming Writer’s Block which is full of tips and rubrics on how to avoid writers block, along with 30 pages of journaling prompts to come to terms with writer’s block should it occur in the future.

Irene has written over 200 book reviews for academic journals such as Dialogue, Heythrop, Eidos, Maritan Studies, and Humane Health Care International.  

Currently, she is a review Editor for Humane Medicine International. Also, Irene is a reviewer for Booksneeze, Tyndale, and Blogcritics.  

She has over fifteen years of teaching experience. Some of these courses were online and distance courses, while others were classroom courses at the University level.

A moderator is assigned for each workshop and will introduce himself/herself on the first day of class. The moderator is available to answer any website questions, assist the instructor, and address any concerns. We urge every participant to contact the moderator immediately if you feel the workshop experience falls below expectations so we may address issues promptly before the workshop ends.
