How to Keep Track of the Novel

Host: Kay Kenyon. Writing a novel is a bit like knitting a huge sweater that mysteriously unravels every night. Actually, that is your brain unraveling, but let's not quibble. To stay on track with your complex story you need a number of tools that summarize the story to date, your decisions, terms, names and more. I've looked at the programs, and I still like my tools best. Some of them require a pencil! In this chat I'll show you my favs, including the scene list and how to use it for everything from a memory aid to an editing routine. Join me on June 20, and let's knit up that raveled garment: your novel.

Bright of the Sky

In a landlocked galaxy that tunnels through our own, the Universe Entire is a strange and seductive mix of humans and alien beings gathered under a sky of fire, called the Bright. Ruling over this land of wonders, are the elegant and cruel Tarig. Into this rich milieu is thrust Titus Quinn, former star pilot. He is bereft of his wife and daughter, who he believes are trapped in a parallel universe--one where he himself may have been imprisoned. To bring them home, he returns to the Entire without resources or his memories of that former life. What Quinn will learn to his dismay is what his own choices were, long ago, in the Universe Entire--and why a fearful multiverse destiny is converging on him.

Called "A splendid fantasy quest" by The Washington Post, the series twice earned a starred review from Publishers Weekly. The quartet is called The Entire and The Rose.
