Forum: Savvy Author's Workshops

  1. Lightbulb Request for Historical fiction or historical fantasy writing workshops!

It'd be great to have a historical fiction-based writing workshop, surprisingly I found very few online courses in this subject. R

  3. Cool Putting in official request for these workshops

I just finished the awesome workshop of 'Inside a Criminal Mind' taught by Lucinda Schroeder, Retired Federal Agent/Author ...and all I have to say is..., "Can we keep her?" I would like to see more of her EXTREMELY well taught and informative workshops, including... 1. “The Language of Liars” -- A course that teaches writers how to make their bad guys realistic liars and their good guys great lie catchers. 2. “Firearms for Writers”

  4. Cool New member taking POV workshop - not sure about timing of class

I am a new member of Savvy Writers and just signed up for the POV workshop that starts Monday. Does anyone know how these classes work and if there is a set time for you to participate? I am an entrepreneur with small children, so hopefully there is flexibility in the class. Any veteran workshop participants, please share what I can expect!

  5. Question Dialog workshop??

Is there a dialog workshop? I've been looking through the workshops and don't see any specifically dealing with creating good dialog. Is anyone else in need of such a thing or am I the only one? Lyn

  7. Workshop Request

Girls and guys, I would really like to learn more about self-publishing...the when's and why's. One of my own favorite authors Dahlia Rose seems to be very verstile at both working with established on-line publishers and selectively self-publishing some works. I would really like to learn more perhaps from her about how she decides whether to pitch an idea to a publisher or run with it herself. Her email is vmochaxtasi1029@aol.com if you are as interested as I am. Regards, Tara Neale

  9. Workshop: Pass the Shovel, It's Getting Deep Lesson One by Angelica Hart and Zi

Lesson One: It All Started the Day That I Died (Building a story) For some fictional writing began early in life. They started with a crayon and mom's white linen tablecloth, where a bright and bold story emerged, followed by parental ooohs and ahhs, and then a very long time out. Z: You were such a rascal. A: Well, at least I didn't use permanent marker on the countertop like some people I know. Z: How did you... A: (Grins mischievously) I know people...people know...

  11. Question about June Bootcamp

I saw a thread about some people organizing a M/M group, but the description said Liz would break us into groups. I write urban fantasy, but don't know many people on the site...will Liz (or whoever) put me in a group, so I don't have to worry about that? Also, I'm in the editing phase of my current novel. Will that work with the bootcamp, or will I need a new novel to work on? If so, that's not a problem, I have plenty of ideas. :) Is the goal to write an entire novel in the month? ...

  12. A Bunch of New Workshops Posted

Hi Guys, I posted a punch of new workshops this weekend. Some of them are brand new ones, that have never been presented before. I'm still looking for workshops so if you have one you'd like to present or know someone who might be interested in presenting workshops for us let me know. Workshop presenters get a free membership and an ad on Savvy Readers or Savvy Authors in addition to the usual stipend. Have them write to sharon@savvyauthors.com. Cheers, Sharon
