• Pitch your book to Chloe Jones of Champagne Book Group

Trying to catch the eye of an editor? Well, now's your chance! Chloe Jones, editor with Champagne Book Group, will be reading three line pitches today.

SUBMISSIONS REQUESTED: Chloe is looking for a wide variety! Paranormal romance, urban fantasy, humor romance, fantasy, Medical/forensic thrillers a la Robin Cook, Tess Gerritson, Jonathon Kellerman—but no copycat stuff. Science fiction romance – any Firefly fans out there? Space Operas are good, too, with great battle-scenes, lots of smoke and fire and loud noises, things blowing up. A little romance in that kind of book is good, but not mandatory. Strong heroines help a lot. Horror or dark thriller but with romance. This can include romantic suspense novels with a real fear-factor—women and/or children in jeopardy—but women willing to protect and rescue themselves and the children if any are involved. BDSM— is great, especially full length novels, but everything must be consensual, no brutality, no ignoring “safe words” (which in CarnalPassions are
a requirement). The hotter the better, but with captivating characters who have history and plans for the future to create a solid plot behind the sex so readers have real humans to relate to.

However, if you don’t have something that fits the above, the good news is we have other actively acquiring editors so please give us your pitches for historical (especiallyHighlander), contemporary (sorry, no sweet romances), steampunk, erotic, m/m, f/f and more.

Until midnight EST May 25th, members will have an opportunity to post their three line pitch as a comment to this post. Check back next week to see if you've scored a request!

Julie's pitch (which she didn't need to make) is a wonderful example of how to do it and get your message across in as few words as possible.
