Savvy Authors Boot Camp is back and better than ever.

Do you need a little motivation to finish your WIP? Dying to write something new but keep putting it off for another day? Wait no more.

Boot camp is almost over! Tuesday is the last day of boot camp. We must wait until all scores have filtered in to call the winners. Friday, June 3rd, is the last day we will accept numbers - so be sure to report to your team leaders before then! All threads concerning scoring for boot camp will be closed at 9PM EST on June 3rd.

Don't forget...Revision Hell starts on June 1st! Same teams, same reporting method, only this time we focus on the editing.

Week Three Results for Total New Words:

We're on the home stretch with only one week to go, and from what I can see, everyone is still very motivated! The sprint challenge held in the Water Cooler on May 21 was a success. Over fifty Boot Camp participants showed up to double their points! Congrats to all!

After some consideration, we've decided to split apart the scoring for new words and edited pages. This will be a first for us! The past BootCamps have grouped the scores together to determine a single Winner. But BootCamp is about developing good writing habits and that means both creating new words and editing old ones. The two processes are really quite different and we want to recognize the team that is best (or at least most prolific) at each.

So...which teams are commanding the score board this week?

It's scoreboard time! The first week of boot camp is behind us, and a few teams have earned the right to strut their stuff! Some competitors are taking the 2K A Day challenge seriously, and their numbers prove it. So, without further adieu...

Savvy Authors welcomes Samhain Publishing to The Savvy Readers Cafe!

Join us for five magical nights of Samhain romance, and hear some of the freshest voices in original ebook fiction spin their tales in The Savvy Readers Cafe. Beginning Monday, Feb. 14 from 9-10 p.m. EST, each author will read a brief excerpt of their latest novel and take questions if time allows in a live webinar.

Win an eReader! During each 10-15 minute segment, a moderator will mention the "secret word" for listeners to log into their Savvy Readers Cafe contest form. Each secret word correctly matched with the author gives each attendee a raffle ticket to win an e-reader*! (E-reader raffled at noon Feb. 19.)

During DigiCon SavvyAuthors will be hosting numerous chats with authors, agents and editors. Here is a list of the chats that will be available during the week of Feb 14 - Feb 19. Be sure you mark your calendars!

Savvy rocked the house! The winners of the annual Preditors & Editors Poll have been announced, and Savvy Authors placed top ten in all three categories we were nominated for! We couldn’t have done it without the support of our awesome members. Thank you so much for taking the time to vote.

Our June Boot Camp was beyond successful with over three million new words written and more than twenty thousand pages edited. Those are some amazing numbers, but the biggest success of boot camp were the twelve teams who forged permanent critique groups and have continued to hold each other accountable. Way to go!

Many teams have asked that we hold a mini-boot camp, a scrimmage of sorts, to keep team members motivated. Boot camps are about accountability and building solid writing habits, and what better way to help keep the energy level high than a little friendly competition?

TGIF! Only one day to get through until we reach the weekend. But is this a weekend to soak up the sun? To sit on our porch and read a good book? No.

The competition is heating up as writing groups participating in the Savvy Boot Camp attempt to claw their way to the top of the Leaderboards. Anytime you log in, whether it be early morning or late at night - when even the birds have enough common sense to rest - you can find writing peeps in the chat rooms. The great thing is, you can see all the hard work in the numbers being reported daily. Muses are hard at work as their writers demand more. More word count, more pages edited, MORE COFFEE!

Keyboards are burning up in various cities around the world, as groups participating in the Savvy Boot Camp vie for top place in the ranking. The numbers are staggering. We combined the word count and pages edited from all groups, and the total is as follows:

Savvy Authors' June Boot Camp is off to an amazing start! Over 86 participants were grouped into seventeen teams based upon similar genres and given private chat rooms and forum spaces to offer encouragement, set-up writing sprints and brainstorm issues. And now, without further ado, I'm proud to announce the leaders after Day 1... We have a tie!
