View Full Version : Question about June Bootcamp

I saw a thread about some people organizing a M/M group, but the description said Liz would break us into groups. I write urban fantasy, but don't know many people on the site...will Liz (or whoever) put me in a group, so I don't have to worry about that?

Also, I'm in the editing phase of my current novel. Will that work with the bootcamp, or will I need a new novel to work on? If so, that's not a problem, I have plenty of ideas. :) Is the goal to write an entire novel in the month?

Sorry if I should know these things, but couldn't figure it out from the description. In any case, motivation and pressure from my group will be good to get my butt in gear, after a too-long break from writing due to moving.

Thanks!

Hey Jen, maybe you've seen the answer by now, but I'll say it again just in cases. Looks like Liz will do a roll call this weekend for all the bootcampers to chime in their prospective genres. From there, people will be split into to teams of about five per the genre. There will be high fives, cat calling, and gauntlets will be thrown ;) Hope this helps, and see you there.

You poor child! Boot camp is exactly what you need!

I feel for you!

Moving is so over-rated!

As anyone who has been remotely around me for the past month, they have heard my tale of woe. Right now, I am in the process of moving all by myself -- two hours across state (I started packing in March -- a three bedroom, full basement and garage -- downsized to a studio apartment...)

June 1st I will be officially out of the city and in the boonies... (yes - a no mans land -- complete with the barbaric practice of dial up Internet.)

Instead of being smart like you, and taking a break from writing, I over loaded my plate and took a bunch of classes and workshops (determined NOT to stop writing, in fear I would get into a rut.)
However, I've been so d@mn exhausted, it's not even funny. The workshops that are live, I have to do. The classes I should be participating in have fallen to the wayside -- I have the notes, but missed out on the comradeship of the thing...

On a positive note ---> this whole experience is soooooo gonna be written into a novel!

Except - unlike MY reality, that story will have some good lovin in it and a meaty man to rub down sore muscles from all the toil moving boxes and furniture brings... (sigh)

CALLING ALL CONTEMPORARY AUTHORS!! We are in dire need of a few contemporary authors to round out a Contemporary Team in June Boot Camp. Anyone writing contemporary fiction who would like to participate, please sign up under Events -> June Boot Camp. Help build a team and finish a novel in a month!

Hi, I just signed up for the June Boot Camp, but I didn't see any team descriptions.
I'm writing commercial women's fiction [what used to be known as "chick-lit"] -- so I think I'd be on the "contemporary authors" team? please lmk, thanks!

Looking forward to major motivation and getting through a full draft of my WIP this June!

Hi DMac,

Have you checked the Special Events section in the forum yet? It's the second category on the list, I believe. June Boot Camp is the first one listed. Once you're in there, you'll see various threads, including a team set-up thread. That's where you want to be!
