Hi June!

This course sounds wonderful!
Just a quick question about paying month to month...is it once per month via Paypal?
Thanks for your time.

Hi Tameka,

Yes, that is my understanding, but I'll confirm and get back to you.

Take care,
June

Hi again, Tameka -- It is done through PayPal.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Take care,
June

Did you see my revised post, Tameka? (That's it done through PayPal?) Hope so!

I did, June, and thank you!
If I think of any other questions, I'll let you know.
I've been enrolled in a correspondence writing course since Febuary and it's rather bad (cost me about what this course does.) For one, it doesn't cater to my genre (Urban fantasy with m/m romantic elements)...it's novel writing in general. The instructor has been great, but as its all via email and I have to contact the school switchboard with questions FIRST---and include questionsin with my assignments--it's very impersonal. The assignments brush on various topics but the learning materials are very thin--and the last half of the course is "write Chapter A but don't submit it, now write ChapterB but don't submit it and rewrite Chapter A." Very difficult to contact the instructor, no forums, and the facebook page isn't for student support. I've done four lessons through them and everything I've learned there I've learned BETTER on Savvy-through the workshops and the great community here. Your course sounds so much more in depth...with MUCH better support...it's too much to wait for days to get an email from an instructor when all you need is a quick oppinion, clarification or word of advice.

I totally agree, Tameka, with the need for support (and timely also)!

That's why I've structured the course to include everyone being part of a small group and the assignment of a writing buddy. There might be 30 students in the course and I'm only one person, so that helps you and me. Just like my workshops, I'll be reading everything everyone posts and commenting. I will also be providing information so I can be contacted by email or phone in case anyone has a question that needs an even quicker turn-around that what's posted to our course forum area.

Sounding better and better!

One more question about payment...does it begin right away? (As the course doesn't begin for months yet)
From the write up it suggests so to "guarantee a seat in class." Is this just the first payment installment?

Good question, Tameka. Here's the information from Liz about how payments work:

Students:

Payments begin the day they (the student) start making payments and continue every 30 days for 12 months. They may begin their subscription payments anytime between the date of acceptance and the first day of class, but their spot in the class is only guaranteed after initial payment is received.

Hi June,

I'm thinking of signing up. But I'm going to wait until closer to the date. I don't want (and really can't afford) to make payments for six months before the class even starts. Hopefully, there will still be openings in December because the your program looks great. :-)

Thanks for letting me know, Stephanie. I hope to see you in January 2011!

Don't forget to look for the contest for the scholarship. That should happen around October 2010.

Take care,
June
