World Building in Sci Fi and Fantasy
Instructor:  Christine Amsden. Whether subtly or drastically different from reality, science fiction and fantasy stories take place in their own worlds. It could be a near-future science fiction thriller based on current politics or an other-world fantasy with elves, dwarves, and giants, but they still have elements of a world not quite our own. This workshop is designed help its participants to build a world from the ground up, starting with idea generation and then filling in rules, history, language, and geography.
